CAREER IN FITNESS
Before becoming an artist, Ben Hill was deeply rooted in athletics—competing in wrestling, track, and cross country. His passion for Martial Arts Tricking also played a key role in shaping his physical discipline and creative drive. Toward the end of high school, this blend of movement and expression sparked his interest in studio art.
Years of intense physical activity took a toll on Hill's body. In 2018, he sustained injuries including a torn meniscus and a torn labrum in his shoulder. He continued to train and create while living with these injuries until undergoing surgeries in 2019 and 2022, respectively. His full recovery from both procedures became a pivotal chapter in his personal and professional growth.
The same perseverance and body-awareness that drew him to art also inspired his journey into fitness. After earning his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2022, Hill enrolled at the Wellspring School of Allied Health in Kansas City, MO just one week before undergoing shoulder surgery. Two weeks after surgery, he began classes—committed to both recovery and building a career path in wellness. He graduated with an Associate of Occupational Science degree in Fitness and Nutrition, earned multiple certifications in the field, and went on to found Benergy Fitness LLC, a personal training business based in Overland Park, Kansas—bringing his philosophy of movement, recovery, and strength to others.
